Standard of Living with economics and the 5 themes reflection

I believe that it is important to learn about standard of living because you can tell which countries are wealthy and  if the people in the country are living well, or are they not living well. You can also tell if they are unhealthy, and why they are unhealthy, for example, by looking at doctors per 1,000 people. It is crucial to learn about standard of living so if a country is underdeveloped, then people can analyze that and aid that country.   

    Ideas about economics and standard of living can be analyzed using the 5 themes when you are trying to decide whether a country looks poor, or wealthy, and what it looks like when you get there. Economic concepts tie in when a country wants to trade money for food, but they only have $2 and the country with the food wants $5 and as a result more people in the country that has $2 starve. Also, natural resources can help determine a country’s standard of living.

5 themes of geography

The Five themes help people analyzing the world as they connect the earth and people as they show how people interact with the earth and themselves. I believe in this because the 5 themes show how people use the earth, live on the earth, and what cultures and languages spread across the world. The theme Region was the most difficult to understand as it can cross international borders, and basically cover the whole world if everyone spoke the same language, so it was difficult to understand.

Map Title Reflection

        I found map skills easy because I could  find  coordinates on a grid fairly easy, and continents, oceans and titles were also easy for me as I was able to understand the content well.  I struggled most with map key, and legend. It was hard because I struggled with the scale on the map, as I wasn’t very accurate, until the 2nd try. Basic map skills are important because you need to be able to read a ecomic map which is using map key, also using a scale is locating exactly where you are on a map. Coordinates are important because they can graph locations in the world. The next map skill, Cardinal directions ,is important because  it is where a continent is located, in the northern or southern hemisphere , and the compass rose is pointing North, West, East, South. The final map skill is continents, titles and oceans, and where they are located , which too me was the easiest map skill. Map skills help in a major way in geography, because they label and describe maps where all mountains and landmarks are, and are the backbone of all maps.
