I believe that it is important to learn about standard of living because you can tell which countries are wealthy and if the people in the country are living well, or are they not living well. You can also tell if they are unhealthy, and why they are unhealthy, for example, by looking at doctors per 1,000 people. It is crucial to learn about standard of living so if a country is underdeveloped, then people can analyze that and aid that country.
Ideas about economics and standard of living can be analyzed using the 5 themes when you are trying to decide whether a country looks poor, or wealthy, and what it looks like when you get there. Economic concepts tie in when a country wants to trade money for food, but they only have $2 and the country with the food wants $5 and as a result more people in the country that has $2 starve. Also, natural resources can help determine a country’s standard of living.
